Hello
I am at a friend's house who has Vista but she uses Norton. If I convince her to let me use the Norton removal tool, what can she use to protect her machine, simply.
I use MBAM and SpywareBlaster with Win 8.1 and Defender with the native firewall but these are more secure than her Vista MS tools. I am also behind a router which she is not. Which would you suggest?
I read Avira free 2013 is rated pretty good but I am not sure if it as a firewall; I have to check on that.

My wife has been using Vista for about 8 years with MSE and the Windows firewall. Not a single problem.

 

I'm running Vista Ultimate with MSE, the native firewall, Bill P Studio's WinPatrol Plus and Spyware Blaster — no problems so far. But, I can recommend Qihu's 360 Internet Security which I run in place of MSE and the native firewall on my XP drive.

 

I am sticking with MS as you said and thank you.
