    Chaslang,

I have been reading this thread and it appears that I am having similar problems that Giantmundo had. Based on your success with Giantmundo, I though I would seek your assistance.

I have downloaded and ran HJT, attached is my log file. Can you let me know the next steps I should take to rid my computer of this continuing reoccurrence of 'aurareco.exe'.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Edit by chaslang: Unrequest log removed.

    Mrac915,

We prefer that each user post requests for help on their own problems in there own thread. It can be useful to reference a particular thread that you think your problem relates to, but we find it less confusing for all parties to work only one user problems per thread. I will be moving your request for help into your own thread. For reference, here is where you had posted: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=60191

Also, we have some guidelines about posting HijackThis logs we like to have followed. One is wait for us to request them and before that we request that the below READ ME FIRST sticky thread steps be followed. Please complete the steps below.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus RemovalMake sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
