Abit fatal1ty an8 sli

Is there anyway with this motherboard to use a different soundcard other than the audio max and still get to use the speaker and mic option with the guru panel, i have an creative X-fi soundcard and would like to use that soundcard, not the audiomax but still be able to use the mic and audio connection on the guru panel for this motherboard, is it possible to do this?

Most mic and audio connections on the case are connected directly to the motherboard. Check your motherboard's manual to verify. (Usually in a section about front panel audio) If this is the case, then yes, you will be able to switch your sound card.

 

But the abit fatal1ty an8 sli comes with a soundcard and the guru panel, which has a mic and audio connection on it connects to that soundcard.

Problem is i dont want to use that soundcard i want to use my x-fi soundcard, but there is no connections on that to connect the guru panel up to my soundcard.

Ive ended up taking the fatality soundcard out what came with the motherboard, but this means ive gotta pull my pc out everytime i wanna hook my mic up to me pc for games etc

Well, does the motherboard provide connections you can use the guru panel on? If not, is it possible to get an adapter?

The connection I'm thinking of would look similar to this picture, but with two rows of pins. Its usually labelled AUX_AUD, or something similar. Most motherboards provide this type of connection for case audio connections.
