Abit NF7-S vs. 2 Motherboard BIOS Update?

My self built 8/9 years ago PC uses an Abit NF7-S vs. 2 Motherboard. Although the m/c. is running fine particularly since fitting a new BIOS CR2032 Battery, I noticed via Speccy that the BIOS version by Phoenix Technologies LTD is version 6.00 PG dated 11/22/2004! I would if possible like to find and install the latest/last BIOS update. Searching on line I find the Abit site is non existant now so cannot so far find any update or any other way of doing this. Or should I leave well alone? By the way I don't want to hear anything about dustbins! :-D

Has anyone got any positive suggestions please?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Most BIOS and driver firmware/software updates are published to address specific problems. If your machine is not exhibiting those problems, then it's probably best to "leave well alone".

In lieu of "dustbins", how about "expensive doorstop"?

I've owned 13 computers so far and I've only updated the BIOS on two of them. One because the manufacturer told me I needed to and an old (2001) HP laptop I still have because it would black screen when I tried to install 2K on it. The laptop came with ME and I wanted to replace the OS after 3 or 4 years. The BIOS solved the black screen problem; 2K was installed and is still on the old laptop.

If it isn't broken, don't fix it! Should be said every time a BIOS update is contemplated.
