Abnormal mouse behavior

For the last week I have been experiencing abnormal mouse behavior. I have checked both the mouse settings and checked the mouse on a different computer and it works just fine...no issues.

The issues I am seeing are things like:

    - Closing an open browser window and another window opens
    - Takes several attempts to copy and paste text. Difficulty highlighting text
    - When I click on links, docs or programs other random windows pop up. Sometimes ads, sometimes other programs that I did not click on.

Another example: I just clicked on "manage attachments" and 2 of the same windows opened.

    Logs attached.

    Hello, Maxs

I'm not finding malware in your logs.

OK...I did not want to mention it because AFTER I did it I read the post about trying other procedures on other forums etc. Sorry!

However, I did start a procedure I found over at bleepingcomputers here:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/563188/virus-causing-mouse-to-double-click-please-help/

I ran everything in the thread with the exception of the fixlist because I don't know what is supposed to go into it.

Again, sorry for any confusion, I was just trying to fix the problem.

    Attached are the logs.

NOTE: This script was written specifically for this user for use on this particular computer. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system.
    • Save the attached (fixlist.txt) to your desktop.
    • Right click FRST and run it as admin.
    • Click the FIX button.
    • A report should pop up, please attach it here in your next reply.

    You're welcome.

    Now please re-run FRST
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Under the Option Scan header - tick "Addition.txt"
    • Now press the Scan button.
    • It will produce both a FRST.txt and Addition.txt log.
Please attach them to your next reply.

I'm sorry but your latest attached FRST &Addition.txt logs are from June, 2015...but should have a time stamp of atleast Nov.6, 2015. ;)

Since I have a copy of each, please use Windows Explorer to first find and delete all old copies of each and reboot. Then please re-run my instructions in my post#6 to produce updated logs for attachment in you next reply.

*EDIT! Never mind - I got turned on "which malware tools use which date format... again! :-o Making my comparison with your logs, now.

    Dr....

You are reading the date incorrectly. 6-11-15...is in fact Nov. 6, 2015. The month and day are reversed! ;)

I have never downloaded FRST before this last week....let alone June and when I checked my files folder...sure enough, it is stamped 11-6-15!

I assure you...you have the correct logs!

    Thanks!

    You're welcome, Maxs

I guess I'm having a "Monday" today...;) The new log shows the correct deletions and no new problem - they are clean.

I recommend our software or hardware forums, if you're still having mouse problems.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase it, it provide no protection. It do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and re-enable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, Win 7/8 - it is time to make sure you have re-enabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Win 7/8, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work through the below link:
