About Blank please help

Hi New here and need help.

The problem started in the machine with about blank.

I was unable to perform all the scans as the machine was and still is shutting off when I try to run the scans, I was about to scan with Anti Vir, it did remove 2 infected files, one of them was java files and the other was troj startpg.ag this did clear up the about blank home page problem.

Everyother scan I run the machine shuts down, if i do something else on the machine example I downloaded windows updates no problem no shut down.

The services suggested to turn off were not there.

I was able to run the cc cleaner nothing else though.

I am at a loss please help

 

Yes it is really true, I wish I could be more specific the darn thing is thats all there is, besides the CC cleaner I was about to to run the Anti Vir, if I let the maching sit there its ok once I try to do something after a few minutes it shuts down by itself.

I will disconnect and see what happens.

 

Actually, I had a similar problem the other night. The shutdown occured while Ad-Aware was scanning. It appeared to be caused by one of the spyware programs that had infected the computer (not sure which one). It did give a 60 second warning before it shut down, so as soon as the warning showed up I cancelled the remainder of the scan and deleted all of the items that had already been identified as bad by the Ad-Aware Scan. This was able to be completed within the 60-seconds. Then when I powered the machine back up and ran Ad-Aware again, the offending program had already been removed and I was able to complete that scan, as well as all of the others.
