I've searched multiple forums and have run multiple utilities to try to fix this, but to no avail. I've followed the read me first post and have ran all utilities mentioned. All logs are attached. Please let me know if there are any others that are needed.

Other programs I've ran include Ad-Aware Antivirus, CCleaner, Spybot Search & Destroy, AdwareAway AntiMalware, About Buster, Malwarebytes, Malwarebytes Anti Root Kit, and others. Ad-Aware quarantined a bunch of stuff as did Malwarebytes, and I no longer get inundated with ads, pop-us, and browser redirection, but its still not 100% fixed.

I will go into IE options and change my home page settings and it will stick for a day or two before reverting back to about:blank. Chrome works fine, but I need to use IE for several sites I visit.

I'm using Windows 8.1 and IE 11 BTW.

    Please help!

You are running two antivirus, one should be uninstalled now.

    • Ad-Aware Antivirus
    • Symantec Endpoint Protection

Re run Hitman and have it remove all that it finds...

    What is this?

    C:\Program Files (x86)\d1ca1af0-b8f2-4c07-96fe-7b26e25d8ebe

Could you please get this: 029B560A371F4E00AB32838EBC01B9E7 into a zipped file and attach it for me in your next post? To do this, see the below:

Please go to start > Run and paste in the following:

    log retrievable @ C:\collect.zip

Kestrel, thanks for your help. I deleted Ad-Aware. This was installed as I was trying to get rid of this bug, but hadn't uninstalled it yet.

Not sure what the "d1ca1af0-b8f2-4c07-96fe-7b26e25d8ebe" folder was, but it appeared to be empty with no hidden or system files in it so I deleted it.

I've attached the zip file as requested and ran Hitman Pro again. I've also attached it's log file.

    Next steps?

    Delete this:

Now explain how things are running. :)

Excellent. I am very glad things are running well again. ;)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
