about dell data local backup

    hi

    I tried restoring all my files after a hardware problem in my dell-inspiron 15R. I could backup all files,music and documents but couldnt

    restore my MATLAB files. can someone please help me

    2 problems I have. Don't know what Dell local backup is. Don't know what a MATLAB file is but I doubt my answer would change.

    I keep a second hard drive, a external USB drive and make occasional important backups to DVD. Why? Because by taking control and knowing what I have backed up I always know where to find it. You don't need everything I have, you could use one or consider an online backup.

    I have no idea how Dell backup works, my assumption is that it stores these files on a hidden partition on your hard drive. If you knew that, we could figure it out.
