? about program

hi all ..

i have been looking all over for a boot / startup program, that can :
store information in different profiles.

an example .. :
i run win xp. some time i use programs and other times i play.

so when i play, i want an optimized startup for playing. so every programs not nesary is not loaded.

and when i use programs, other different programs loads when booting.

- - -

so a program that can capture my xp configurations in different ways. and by choice restart and use that exactly configurations i want. within xp.

i have tried different programs, included xp's own manager. but none of them worked with everything i could expect.

sometimes they still had the configuration put on, even if i had turned it of.

what i want is to be in full control, and not be limited to what microsoft want be to do.

hope soem of u have knowledge of where to get / download such program.

 

HI, Not sure if this will help or not. But what if you set up a new user account and set what loads on start up

This is just a idea . not sure if this will work or not. But with blackviper's guide you might be able to set what loads with different users

This has just popped into my head. maybe if you partition your hard drive and install windows on the new partitions and then you have the choice of what one you want to load

Hi, How about trying a combination of NetLaunch http://www.blackcastlesoft.com
and Enditall from http://home.ptd.net/~don5408/toolbox/enditall/.

This may give you what you want. NetLaunch sets them up and Enditall closes them down.

I don't use Net Launch as I always boot up into Net configuration first but when I finish on the net, I run an Enditall batch file that closes down all my net stuff. I use W98 so not sure if batch files run on later OS's.

Maybe you can have 2 Net Launch scenarios with different call names and Enditall with 2 different batch names if required. Bazza
