about that Drive Cleaner software

I don't think it's legit. It wants to elbow itself onto your pc. I've seen this first hand. Maybe the majors can confirm this. Somehow a link for it got posted in this forum earlier.

 

which program do you refer to?

 

About 20 minutes ago I noticed someone had posted a link to it....Drive Cleaner. I was posting a reply, then suddenly the thread was gone, removed. Kinda strange.

 

apparently he was a spammer and the thread was a spam thread. These links sometimes lead to malware and I'm sure Drive Cleaner would "clean" anyones private files in no time. You didn't let it in, did ya?

 

Whilst Drive Cleaner isn't listed on the Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites it IS a ROGUE application

NOTE: Drive CLeaner should not be confused with Driver Cleaner which is hosted here on MajorGeeks

 

Maybe why it was removed!

No way Sailor, plus I've seen it before in some porn pages. An unsuspecting user can easily be duped by it though. I clicked the link to see if it was the same culprit I'm familiar with, and it was. One has to be savvy to click your way back to safety.
