Are some players using things like rapid fire joysticks for the shoot-em-up type games and are some of the high scores for certain other games for real?

 

Don't know about rapid fire joysticks, but I use a SpeedPad for first person shooters.

The level of control and manoeuvrability is awesome, and it's very comfortable.

Who makes the SpeedPad? Not seen one of them. Just out of curiosity - just how fast does it make your 'ship' fire in Asteroids, for instance?
I just knew there had to be another way aside from your every-day $/£/10.00 querty keyboard. My space bar is becomming defunct and I'm getting SFI (Severe Forefinger Injury).

It's made by Belkin.

They make two models, the n50 and n52.

n52 is the latest and best.

The palm rest is adjustable, or even comes off.

The keys are programmable (over 100 combinations), it comes with excellent profile software, and a lifetime warranty.

It's also well priced.

Don't know about Asteroids, I mainly use it for FPS, but any game where you use a keyboard or controller would work, including RTS games.

It's far better than the regular keyboard as you don't have to look for the correct key or feel around.

As it sits on the left-hand side of your keyboard, and the mouse is on the right-hand, it naturally feels very comfortable as both hands are shoulder width apart.

It's only new, so there aren't many profiles for download, but you can make your own with the software anyway, and they are better.


If I sound like I love this thing, I do! It's nothing short of awesome.
