aboutbuster error message

I just downloaded aboutbuster from MG. When I ran a scan in safe mode (as recommended by the author), I received the following error message:
"Run-time error '339': Component 'comctl32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid."

 

Are you running this because you have this infection present? If you do not have this infection present you do not need to be running this.

If you do think you have this infection, please make sure you have the latest update.

If you have the updated version, then follow the below steps to fix your issue.

Download the missing file HERE!

Now, locate the file you downloaded and copy into your SYSTEM directory..

C:\WinNt\System32

 

You may find that you will need other files as well.

In that case, install Visual Basic RunTime files.

 

Until a couple of weeks ago, my girlfriend's computer had been experiencing occasional BSODs, so I have been cleaning it up and running as many diagnostic tools as I can find. I downloaded aboutbuster 6.0 on the day of release because I didn't know whether she had the infection or not. I will try replacing the files per your suggestions. Thanks for the help.

 

You should only run this utility if the About:Blank/HSA Hijacker is present. If you need help in removing malware please feel free to post in the Spyware Forum.
