Acclaim 'Constructor' on xp?

i have downloaded the constuctor game which is a windows 95 game. I was wondering if there is any way in which it can be played on xp? Thanks very much

 

Maybe, but it might depend on how much you are willing to persevere.

The easiest thing to try is Compatibility Mode.

Right-click the game's executable, properties, and then Compatibility tab. ( If you have to install it first, use Compatibility as well on the setup.exe so it installs in the correct folders )

Check box "run this program in compatibity mode for" and in the drop down box select the relevant operating system. ( If 95 or 98 doesn't work, try NT 4.0 with Service Pack 5 )

Try the other settings also like disabling text and visual themes etc.

You may have to try a combination until you find one that works.

If not, then you could try the Micro$$oft Application Compatibility Toolkit. It's hidden in your XP CD, but it's an old version so download the latest from the MS site.

It's a fairly advanced set of tools so it's up to you if you think it's worth the effort.

Some people find it easier to just keep and use an old machine for these older games or dual boot.

 

"constuctor" that game is G-R-E-A-T!!! believe me, i know almost all the games in the world and this is one of the best games ever!

i have to original version with box and everything, i remember there was a patch to make the game work in microsoft windows 95, so trying to play the game in microsoft windows xp must be really hard!!!

try it with dosbox, i do not know...

if you can not get it to work, play "street wars/mob rules" it is like constructor two but worse he he he!
