Acer Aspire 5100 crashes when barely moved? Please help.

O.k., so I'm new on here and I've never gotten a solid answer from any other site so I'll give it a go. O.k., I have an Acer Aspire 5100. Anytime I move it at all (slight movements) it crashes. It's not the hard drive at all. Replaced with new one, same problem. It's actually a really good computer when it works. I'll reformat the hard drive and it will be better but then within a week it's back to not wanting to boot(thats the other major problem with it, but again it did it with a brand new hard drive)). If i put it on a flat surface it will run fine for a while but will eventually freeze. What could this possibly be? It's driving me crazy. How could a computer act so touchy? But, it's absolutely not the hard drive (i thought so at first) and it's not the memory (dont know what that could do. just thought i would add that). Please. Pretty please with sugar on top could someone tell me what this sounds like to you? Thanks in advance. I don't want to drop more money on a new laptop.

 

It sounds like me for sure something is loose. Motherboard connection maybe. I think your only option is take it to a repair shop and have them take a look at it.

I think messing around with it may create even more damage. Get a estimate done. I would for sure do so As Soon as you can. If there is some kind of loose connection you may really make things worse by trying to keep using it then moving it around.

I have had the same thing a couple of times. It turned out to be the case flexing and changeing shape slightly when you move it. Don't remember where the short was but it was something that only touched when the case flexed. Maybe a screw got lost and worked it's way under the Motherboard. Look for anything that moves when the case flexes.
