Acer Aspire 9810 : Screen/Graphics Problem

Hi All my acer aspire 9810 has lines of differnet colours coming down the screen i notebook used to b xp but ive updated it to 7 it was workn ok for a few months.. i have checked the graphics card and its st to standard vga adapter ive check the websites for the drives and found out that the driver "standard vga" is set when there is no drver found so i got the nvida driver which is for this model updated ok but when i restart windows is loading then jut a black screen for bout 30secs the i get the blue screen of death sayin that it tryed to reset the display driver but timed out so i had to restore and go bk to having lines all over my screen and the resoultion away down to 600x somethng can some1 please help.

 

That actually sounds more like a hardware problem than a driver issue.

Can you post a screenshot of how this looks?
