acer aspire one bsod

    Hello,
    I have an Acer aspire one that keeping rebooting - goes as far as a windows welcome screen and then bsod; Product name is AOa150; Intel chipset; I reflashed bios from ver. 3301 to 3310 but it didn't help.

    Pls help!
    ps - I've made a number of posts in the past and always thanked those who helped me...yet the stats on my posts indicate "0" thanks from me...is this something new?

    ps - error code on blue screen was "unmountable boot volume"

    Hi

    What Windows version and Service Pack are you using?

    Can you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) and your PC boot ok?

    Have you installed anything new just before this happened? if so what, was it a software application, driver update or Windows update?

    Enter the BIOS and check that the HDD is the 1st boot device and save and exit.

    Hi - It is windows xp sp3; user said he was using an external drive to copy data but that it later restarted okay; he also now indicates that it had a little fall from a bedside onto a carpet...
    can't boot into safe mode; HDD is first
    Article from MS...hummm not sure how to use this....I don't have a recovery dvd so no way to access chkdsk etc.?

    Hi Halo,

    it's working again after pressing alt f10 that starts some system re-installation program; there was no data to loose so this worked out okay. Thanks very much for your help!
