Acer Aspire One not seeing network

I have a Linksys WRT400N router. Networked together are a PS3, Acer netbook, wireless camera WRT546 and a hardwired Dell desktop. My OS is XP.

The router regularly drops the PS3 from the network and at least once a day I have to reset that router, sometimes even powering it right off. One day that was particularly bad, the router started back up and I found that all the security settings had reverted to "Disabled" and my port forwarding settings for utorrent were gone.

So I did a firmware upgrade on the router and then re-entered the previous settings (using the same WEP security keys as before) for both the 2.4 and 5gHz sections. The PS3 and camera all showed back up on the network just as they had before, but I can't get my Acer netbook to "see" the wireless signal anymore. My PS3 is streaming media from the network, connecting to the web and my camera is successfully feeding to the web, so everything seems to be working but the netbook.

    Here's what I've tried:
Disabling and re-enabling the Wireless LAN on the netbook
Uninstalling the Atheros Wireless Network Adapter and re-installing it
Getting a newer driver for the above
Running cmd and ipconfig - no ip address shows - it says media disconnected
Hard-wired the netbook in and tried re-adding the network places (file sharing and internet worked when hard-wired)
Back to wireless - it's not seeing anything.

Also, the "set up home or office network" wizard in Windows XP will not run on the Acer. You get the hourglass, then nothing...not even an error message.

My firewall is Zonealarm and I haven't changed anything on it since before when the whole network was working fine. To avoid errors when IP's change, I have all the IP's from 100 to 108 "allowed". None of my devices have static IP addresses.

Is there anything else to try? I'm starting to wonder if it was just a fluke and the network card just happened to fail at the same time as my router error.

    Help!...Thank you!

So, no point in responding if anyone's reading this. I didn't have much on this laptop so I decided to just back up the few files and do a factory restore. The restore failed partway through the reformatting phase and she's toast at the moment. Anyone want to have an Acer-burning party??
