Acer ePerformance and Symantec

I'm working on cleaning up a coworker's computer. It's an Acer Aspire 5100, which means it comes with the Acer Empowering Technology suite (ePerformance, ePower, ePresentation, eSettings, eRecovery). Our workplace provides Symantec Endpoint Protection 11MR5 for free, so he has that installed. However, it seems that Acer's ePerformance Memory Optimization tool is causing Symantec to throw "Tamper Protection Alerts" every time it runs.

Other targets include "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SymCorpUI.exe" and "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SmcGui.exe", and I've also seen "C:\Acer\Empowering Technology\ePerformance\MemCheck.exe" as the Actor Process. My guess is that Symantec is freaking out when another process wants to touch its memory space? Should I turn off automatic memory optimization, uninstall the suite (which I'm hesitant to do, since it's not my machine), or set an exception for the suite within Symantec?

    Thanks!
