    Hello all,

I am after some advice please. I have an Acer aspire laptop, was working fine Wed night then last night when i tried to get on there was a problem.

When i turn the laptop on it goes through the Acer startup screen where i can press F2 to go into the setup - it then goes to a black screen saying - apologies for the inconvienence but windows was not shut down properly, it then offer the option of starting in safe mode, last known good config and start normally. When i select any of these options the system just freezes.

I have also tried pressing F8 on startup and going in that way but when i select any of the safe mode etc options the screen just goes black.

I have downloaded OS onto a cd and changed settings to run cd first but it only starts reading the cd when into the error screen and the cd does not run the programs.

Any advice would be appreciated :)
