Acer Laptop has Black Screen

So my Acer Aspire 5000 has the black screen of death. I was told that updating the bios could bring the screen back to life. I think it could work since it does seem to flicker when I power it up. I downloaded the BIOS from Acer support site. I configured the jump drive with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool. Booted up the Acer from the jump drive using another monitor I plugged up to the laptop with a VGA cable. Now I'm getting this error? I have no clue what to do :confused
