My friend has a Toshiba Satellite A15-S157 Laptop, which recently stopped connecting to our campus LAN.

When it had a hard connection (over a cable that I knew worked with another machine), it removed the red "disconnected" X and displayed "Acquiring Network Address" incessantly.

In IP Config, it showed no DNS suffix, no gateway, no nothing. Only a MAC address (which gave me some hope), and an IP of 0.0.0.0

I attempted multiple times to reinstall the drivers, which are unfortunately intel intergrated drivers. It gave the same error. She had a multiple firewalls on her machine (don't know why), but I disabled the two I saw: Windows and ZoneAlarm (aka EZFirewall... had a zonealarm interface... I thought it was strange). It still retrieved no network information.

The "Repair" function doesn't work, because it needs an IP first.

Any ideas are more than welcome.
