Active Folders

Hi folders. It seems that we only have a few active folders (I just restarted a week or two ago) and I was wondering if anyone here at Major geeks misses having an active social portion of the folding effort. Would be nice to be back up in the top 100 again, and to encourage former and future folders to start making efforts again. Still seems like a worthwhile cause.

Is anyone else interested in restarting an active community?

Hi :wave yep not many of us left, lots have dropped off for whatever reasons. Not much chat about it here, seems easiest to haunt the folding forums for answers when or if you're really stuck. I'm still plodding along, contributing. Folding on. The way TheeFool is chewing through W/U's he'll pass me within a week. :-o

 

I was at 53 yesterday now at 44th position.

 

Well crap I've been closing in on position 50 for a while now and you've bumped me back up.

 

Another resource for information is the folding team 32 forum over here.
They are one of the top teams in the world and are very knowledgeable about folding especially if you want to get into massive PPD production.
When I was into heavy duty folding, they were very helpful even though I was on another team. Just let them know what's going on and they can usually come up with an answer.

Thanks for the replies. Nice to see some action. Anyone have any thoughts about how to get a few more participants -- or to get back some who've dropped off? :confused

 

Thoughts sure, but nothing that I feel is realistic that will get results, too many don't post or log into MG at all anymore. Every other participant is unknown to me outside of here. If their folding name matched their MG name you could email them individually and hope their email address is still current. Lots of work for an unknown result.

 

Team 32 was the first team I folded for, and still do all along when I have an extra rig. VERY good folks at helping out with Folding issues.

It was fun when we were in the top 100 and had a bunch of people folding. Plus the cause could change the course of humanity for the better.

Make sure you download and install the latest clients if you have been folding for years on the same old client. They've added GPU processing in the past few years, which really gives you a boost in number crunching power.

I was mad when I updated my PS3's OS and found out they stopped supporting that client. I guess they're developing one for the PS4?

Wow, I had no idea that there was a new build. Looks like I'm way behind the times. I'll install the newest build as soon as I'm done with my current WU.
