I started with this thread: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=141742 but as I got further into things, I found other problems, and now it seems that the entire Active X 'module' in WinXP Home is completely trashed. Flash Player will not install and therefore online animations obviously don't work, Windows Updates download but will not install. I've tried a repair install of WinXP over the top of itself and that didn't fix the problem. I've run CCleaner to clean the registry and hard drive. I've followed the uninstall in the thread above and still no dice. Any help is appreciated.
