activiation error

I have been using AutoCad LT 2006 since early 2006 with no problems. Last week I had to hard re-boot my computer for another issue.
Since then, the AutoCad software has been verifying my license each time I start-up the software. I am then routed to a menu
that states I need to activate my software or use software for 7 days.

When I tried to activate my software, I get a registration-activiation error.

I have my original activation code from when I first installed the software in 2006; however, the request code that
is on the screen is different from the orginal request code in 2006.

How do I remedy this issue. I have 3 days until my software is de-activated.

 

I am not an expert on this but one thing springs to mind.
Can you use "system restore" to get to a date before you did the hard boot.

 

i have tried restore and that didn't work ive uninstalled the autocad and reinstalled 3 times and still no joy . the funny thing is that when i installed autocad 2009 the same error occurred but the activation screen is coming out blank

 

You should contact AutoCAD via their website and explain your problem. I have always found in situations like this that reputable publishers will assist with a new licence key providing everything has been done 'above board'.

 

As i said this is not my area of expertise so you will have to wait for someone with the required skills to come in (it could take a while as our US friends are just getting out of bed)

I have some ideas but i would not do them on someone else's PC.

What operating system are you using and service pack.
