Ad-aware doubts

    I'm told that Ad-aware is supected of sending out data from the computer it's supposed to be protecting. Is this just a nasty rumour? Possibly from Mr. Norton or Mr. McAfee?

    Do you have any supporting facts to go along with these claims?

    Chas,
    None at all. A sensible friend had his computer worked over by spyware and called in a professional. The professional it was who advised against Ad aware

    There are many people who call themselves "professionals" who are not. I'm not saying this was the case with your friend but to give you an example, we have had hundreds of people come here looking for help who have titles of IT professsional or similar.

    Also note many people get program names confused between valid and rogue programs that use similar names. For example, take a look at the below rogue list containing 290 rogues:
