Ad-aware freezes

Alrighty, Win98, have SB S&D, Avast, current updates, Ad-Aware (uninstalled and reinstalled) added the VX2plugin, ran again and froze, disabled the avast and installed AVGRan found null trojan (fixed). Problems...Ad-Aware freezes in the last step after I name the file and hit continue, I have to ctrl/alt/del to get out. Tried several methods to run in safe mode but could not get to safe mode. SB S&D is clean (so it thinks) Avast comes up clean. I've found Farmext and Moemoney in my startup menu (though I did un check them this am, magically they are checked again). I want to follow your Read me first instructions but no safe mode.

After doing ALL of the READ ME if you still have a problem:

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99.1 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, INCLUDING YOUR WEB BROWSER, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder for example C:\Program Files\HJT

 

To go to safe mode, shut down computer completely, then reboot and then hit F8 button once every second until you get a screen with commands then use keyboard to scroll down to safe mode and hit Enter. Then run Ad-Aware in safe mode. Hope this helps. OLB
