Ad-Aware SE 1.05 Compatable WIN95 B ??

Is Ad-Aware SE 1.05 compatable with WIN95 B??

On the download site it says WIN ALL. But when I tried to install the program after downloading, it would not install.

The home page for Ad-aware says you must have WIN98 or higher. Which is it? If this is the case, is it possible to get an older version of Ad-aware?

 

As far as I know it should work on Win95. You can try this version of Ad-Aware.

I downloaded and installed the Ad-aware 6.0. Then went to the Update and downloaded the available update.

When it finished there was a note saying that Ad-aware SE 1.05 was available and directed me to there website. The 6.0 version works fine on my WIN95.

Question? Does anyone know if SE 1.05 will work on WIN95 if you upgrade from Version 6.0 to SE 1.05? Just would like to know before I do such a foolish thing.

no, SE will NOT work on 95a,b or c versions.

Win95B here... Several days ago I downloaded the SE executable only per http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4363.html and wrote over the old Ad-Aware 6.0 executable. Settings were retained; definitions download just fine; got VX-2 plug-in fine; program runs fine. Seems to work fine for me.

 

Ad-Aware 6.0 vs SE 1.05

Seems the safe path is to retain 6.0 vs SE 1.05 of Ad-Aware if the bugs are not worked out. I've never seen a pop-up screen advising that 1.05 ver is even out. Does anyone know what it does or is all about?

 

Thanks. No bugs per say but I did see this... "But it is totally unsupported and you could run into problems". The LavaSoft Team has helped me out with support so I thought someone had identified some bugs. Thanks for the heads up. I'll download the latest overtop ver 6.0
