Ad-Aware SE Personal PROBLEM

To anyone that can help.

Every Friday I make it a point to update all my programs, ie: CCleaner, Spyware Blaster, Spybot, and Ad-Aware.
Today when I went to update my Ad-Aware SE Personal (Version 1.06r1) I got this note..."New definitions file available! Build: SE1R50 13.06.2005, Date: 13.06.2005 Download and install the file.

I know this is normal and I have pressed OK in the past and it has downloaded new definitions with no problems at all. However this time I pressed OK, there was a delay of about 15 seconds and a box came up saying, "The downloaded definitions file could not be read, please update again."

I have attempted to update this about three more times with the same result. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Get a fresh install of the program and the defs.

(Extract this file to the installation directory, C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal)

 

Thank you Bjgarrick. It now says, "No updated componets available."

One further question...Is this something that has just recently happened or can I expect this to happen with each further update.

Most likely just a one time thing. Shouldnt happen again but if it does just let us know.

Also if you like since you already have a thread you can attach a current HJT log just to confirm your clean.

Its up to you though!

 

Sure. I'm rather green when it comes to this. On other posts I've read it mentions users should put HJT into its own folder and run it from there.

Could you please give me a step by step method on how to do this. I think it was you who decribed that a HJT folder should be made in the Program Files.
