ad-aware update question

I've been using ad-aware successfully for several years now.

I had not updated ad-aware in awhile so i just went to do that but i am TOTALLY confused.....am hoping someone here can set me straight!

I am using ad-aware version 6.0 "personal" (freeware).
Reference Number : 01R347 26.10.2004 Internal build : 281

From that my last update was way back in October of 2004 so there must be a new build available...

In the past i simply followed the internal program "check for updates" procedure.

But I do not understand what it is doing NOW.....

I click on "check for updates" and it says "NO UPDATED COMPONENTS AVAILABLE".

But after acknowledging that it shows a "NEWS" item in the window that says "Ad-Aware SE 1.05 Available, please update" with a "READ MORE" link...

If i click on the READ MORE link it takes me to http://www.lavasoft.de/

From there it shows "news" about a 1.06 UPDATE!!! And even says....

So i figure that that is the update I need (??)

I click on that and it takes me to yet another page..

It appears to be what I'm after (the FREEWARE updates) since it says....

neither of those things makes any sense to me

the page also has other stuff further down has other links for downloading things

i tried something that takes me to a screen that keeps talking about BUYING the new professional version....i've been going around in circles & now my head is spinning with confusion and frustration


what/where is the update that i should download FOR THE FREEWARE VERSION?????

what does this mean - "Ad-Aware SE versions only"???? Is that what i have?????? Is that what i need???

i was really confused by the new naming conventions (ie: "SE") and how the ad-aware site itself got me in some kind of loop for buying their non-freeware version
