    Hi, :cry

My apologies for adding the Hijackthis log in my earlier post & then I read your thread on how to start.

Would really appreciate if you can help.... I have been getting Ad pop-ups for past 3 days & i am not even close to being a geek to work on it.

Your help would be highly appreciated

    Thanks

Please begin by clicking Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > View > Show Hidden Devices.
    • Scroll down to “Non-plug and Play Drivers” and click the plus icon to open those drivers.
    • Then search forTDSSserv.sys
    • Let me know if you find this or not.
    • If you do find it, right click on it, and select Disable. Do not try to uninstall it.
    • Also if TDSSserv.sys is found and you disable it, then reboot.
    • After reboot continue on with the below cleaning instructions.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:
    1. If you run into problems trying to run theREAD & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

    Thanks for your note.

After posting my request earlier I did went back & read the site instructions under "READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide" & followed them deligently step by step. As a result the pop-up problem has gone.

FIRST .... Thanks to you guys for that !!

However another issue that I am facing now that was not there earlier was an error msg on booting my PC. My wife & I share the same PC. I have admin rights while she has user restricted rights. When I login, every thing seems fine however when my wife logs on though she is not getting any ad pop-ups however during completion on booting the error msg appears stating that some dll files could not be found -

    nibabuju.dll
    bizuzuti.dll
    dokanisu.dll
    SNSAPIs.dll

Since the pop-up situation has been resolved I have not made any changes to the system based on your earlier reply, but you feel this needs to be done, let me know & I will do it.

To provide you with all information I am also attaching all the log files (SAS & Combo fix Log in this reply) I gathered as part of the cleaning process.

    Appreciate your help !!

Important Notice: A new version of SUPERAntiSpyware is out that should help with this problem from Vundo that keep returning. Since you used the old version of SUPERAntiSpyware, you need to do the below.
    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this first log later.
    • Since this infection has been reappearing after a reboot, you will have to reboot again and then run an additional scan to make sure it comes back clean. Attach this second log too.
Are the below folders that you created?
    Code:
    2008-12-09 18:34 . 2008-12-09 18:34 <DIR> d-------- c:\windows\system32\WinNTDlls
    2008-12-09 18:34 . 2008-12-09 18:34 <DIR> d-------- c:\windows\system32\Win98Dlls

Run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    Java(TM) 6 Update 3
    Java(TM) 6 Update 5
    Java(TM) 6 Update 6
    Java(TM) 6 Update 7

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix to remove a bunch of malware files.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the 2 new SUPERAntiSpyware logs
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!
