Ad-watch would not stop detecting a registry modification, over 9000.Only way to stop it was to reboot.
    Message:-
    Root:HKEY_LOCAL_Machine
    Key:Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run
    Value:Kernel Fault Check
    Data:
    New Data:%systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

I am running Xp home (genuine),Zone Alarm SS , Ad-aware.
Nothing else on machine apart from a small game my wife downloaded from Yahoo (Dynomite Deluxe).
When we started up the pc there was a note pad message off one line long but I did not get a chance to see it properly.
Should I be concerned by what Ad-watch has detected.

    Thanx

I don't know if this helps here is a Hijack log:-

    Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7
Scan saved at 12:20:25, on 19/03/2006
Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)
    MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180)

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!
Right now this does not sound like a malware problem. Sounds like you PC is just crashing which is not necessarily a topic for this forum.

Note you must read the sticky threads and follow forum guidelines. No logs should be posted inline and your version of HijackThis has not been used for 2 years.

If you want to make sure you do not have malware problems, please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
