AdAware 2007 never finds critical objects

I have been using AdAware SE (free) malware removal tool for several years. It has always done an acceptable job, considering I get it for free. It has regularly found and removed both "privacy" objects and "critical" objects.

Recently I downloaded the updated, AdAware 2007 (replacing AdAware SE) and ever since then it has not identified a single "critical" object, even when there were several which accumulated in my computer. I eventually removed some, including one Trojan, using a free trial of Spyware Emergency.

Is there something lacking in the new AdAware 2007 software? or could there be something infecting my computer which has disabled my AdAware program?

Anybody out there know about this issue?

Even Ad-Aware SE is not the useful in today's malware world. Ad-Aware SE has long scared many people by declaring harmless cookies and MRU's as critical objects. They are not problems at all any anyone can easily clean them up if desired right from your browers. You don't need special tools to remove them because they are not problems.

As far as Ad-Aware 2007 is concern, it is still not on our recommended list, but I would recommend it before Spy Emergency ( I assume you did not mean Spyware Emergency which does not exist). Spy Emergency was even on a rogue tool list at one time (it no longer is) due to many problems with false positives. Even though it is no longer considered a rogue tool, it is not what many would consider a recommeded tool.

Ad-Aware 2007 is supposed to be an improvement over Ad-Aware SE. It may just be a matter of what options you have configured in it.
