    Hi!
How can I add another shortcut to the "Send To" box?

    For example when I;
    1. Right click on the document.
    2. Click on "Send To"
    3. My drop down list includes; desktop, mail recipient, My Documents, My Pictures, 3 1/2 floppy A:, DVD RAM D:, etc.,

How can I add my CD drive E: to the "send to" list?

    Thanks!
    :D

    Hi Oooops!

First off unhide your files and folders, goto in any folder Tools > Folder Options > View and check Show Hidden Files and Folders > Apply

then navigate to this location C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\SendTo ( where your user name is the name of the account ) and just create a new shortcut ( right click NEW > Shortcut and browse to the item you want ) to the item you want to add to the Send To menu.

then rehide files and folders again.

Yes, I have Windows XP as stated in my siggy. Yeppers, I have 2 CD burners as stated in my above post. No, it's not appearing in the list as it should be, that's why I'm here asking, lol.

Add a destination to the Send To menu...

    Start
    Run
    sendto
    ok (or enter)
    File
    New
    Shortcut
    Browse (to location or folder)

But if the drive isn't showing in the list, maybe recording isn't enabled on that drive. You probably know already, but just in case you don't, go to My Computer. Right click the drive you want to use, click Properties and make sure the "Enable CD recording on this Drive" box is checked.

Thanks for your suggestion! I now know of 2 ways to accomplish what I was trying to do.

I had no idea about the "recording" checkmark. I'm so glad that you pointed that out to me. There was indeed a checkmark missing.

    Thank you!

    Eureka!

Discovered that I can add what I want to the "Send To" box. However, it will only allow me to place a checkmark beside "Enable CD recording on this Drive" to only one of my two CD drives.

I have the original CD-RW drive which was changed to Drive E and moved below to another slot, (of which does not have a checkmark).

My new DVD drive which was made as Drive D which does have a checkmark.

I'm confuzzled, but at least it's in my list now, lol.

    Just another thought...........

To date, I now have a new DVD drive and the older regular CD drive. From what I gather, the new DVD drive is for both reading and recording. The older CD drive will no longer record, it's read only?

I noticed I cannot place checkmarks beside both drives in "Enable CD recording on this Drive".

I have all these discs now, can I use them all in the read/burn DVD player?

    CD-R
    CD-RW
    DVD-RW

Thanks for your patience and help, just a little confused with all these drivers and CDs.

Only 1 CD/DVD writing drive can have that checkbox ticked at a time, as its the Built in XP burning application option toggle and if using XPs built in burning soft, it wouldnt know which drive to send the data too, if both could be ticked.

If you have a 3rd party burning app, like Nero, Roxio etc then these bypass that anyways and you choose your appropriate burner from their list of available drives.

as for DVD burners, they are backwards compatible and will read/burn not only DVDR DVDRW but CDR and CDRW disks.

Yes, Nero came installed on this computer, and now something called CyberLink Power DVD was installed with the new DVD CD player, not sure what that is yet.

Good to know that I can still use all these different disks that I've accumalated. I'm kinda assuming that for small sized storage, I use the CD-R/CD-RW, and for something larger sized to store, I use the DVD-R/DVD-RW.

Halo, thanks so much for clearing my confuzzled mind!

What brand of drive is it ? (got mine with a Sony DVD burner which has just gone mad). And on the disk with Power DVD on it, is there also some software called "Record Now DX" ? If so, it's yet another CD / DVD burning application. I have heard it said that having it installed on the same computer as Nero can cause problems. Can anyone else confirn that ?
My limited experience of using Nero ended when it failed 6 times in a row to burn a DVD.

    Hi!

    Looking at the CD that was given to me with the DVD player, it says the following (I didn't see the "Record Now DX" that you had mentioned, but I see that it also has the Nero like what the computer came with);

    "LG DVD Writer Solution"
    CyberLink DVD Solution
    -PowerDVD
    -PowerProducer
    -Nero Express
    -In CD
    -Acrobat Reader
    -Drive Manual
