Administrator Problems

    Goodmorning, I am trying to set up my new pc, here are the specs on it:

    Win 7 Home Premium
    SP1
    HP
    AMD Athlon(tm) llX2 250 1.60GHZ
    4.00GB (ram)
    64-bit OS

    I've d/l virus, fw, spyware protection, defrag, ccleaner. Have been able to get AVG Free installed, ccleaner installed trying to install Sygate and keep getting "you must have admin right to install/uninstall". I've went in and checked in the User Accounts and I am setup with admin rights. Is there a tweak or something I should do before trying to install the firewall?

    Hello,
    Symantec bought out Sygate a very long time ago and it is no longer supported. I doubt it is even compatible with Windows 7.

    Hi , goodmorning :-D this maybe work , Right click ( to the programme in which you would like to install ) - run as admin or

    Restart your machine

    push f8 go in to safe mode

    my computer
    c ( hdd )
    documents and settings
    right click in problematic account
    properties
    security tab
    advanced
    administrators
    replace permissions
    apply
    ok
    rebbot your machine

    oh ok I'll look through here for another one then, def want no symantec lol, thanks both of ya'll. is there any recommended that are compatible with win7 and the avg? also do i need seperate spyware since avg seems to have one with it?

    Get malwarebytes (free or paid). It is one of the first programs I install.

    Don't let the price scare you. The download will work as a free version forever, you just will not have real-time protection unless you pay.
