"Adobe Photoshop: Photoshop.exe - unable to locate component This application has failed to start because vfzcore.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." The program will still run after clicking OK, however this dynamic link library file is missing. Does anyone know the following:
    1. Which plugin this .dll file is associated with?
    2. If the plugin is removed, where can you get the plugin to re-install?
    3. From research, the re-installation of Photoshop most often does not correct this problem.

If anyone can offer advice how to fix this it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks...

I found the article below yesterday, it might give you an idea where to start. If you have EToolBox maybe just uninstalling it will solve the problem. Or, try and follow the suggestions listed.

Do you know where I could download Etoolbox & Axeparser for free? Thanks for the feedback. It's appreciated.

No. If you never had it installed at one time, that is probably not what the problem is. My thinking was maybe you had EtoolBox and it had become corrupted or missing some files.

Doesn't sound like that is the case.

    pxl SmartScale Answers

Q:What are all the files that Smartscale installs and where are they?

    A:SmartScale installs the following files:

    On the Mac:

In your Applications folder you'll have an onOne Smartscale folder that contains:

    pxl SmartScale 1.0 ReadMe.txt
    pxl SmartScale 1.0 UG.pdf
    Register pxl SmartScale 1.0

In the Adobe Photoshop CS folder if you go the Plug-Ins folder->Adobe Photoshop Only->pxl SmartScale 1.0 you will find the following files:

    pxl SmartScale 1.0
    pxl SmartScale Help folder
    pxl SmartScale.exli
On Windows if you go to the Program Files folder you'll see an onOne SmartScale folder and that will contain:

    Etoolbox.dll
    pxl SmartScale 1.0 Read Me.txt
    pxl SmartScale 1.0 UG.pdf
    Register pxl SmartScale 1.0.exe

In the Photoshop Application folder a file called vfzcore.dll is installed. In the Photoshop CS->Plug-Ins->Adobe Photoshop Only folder you'll find a pxl SmartScale 1.0 folder. In that folder you'll find:

    pxl SmartScale Help folder
    pxl SmartScale 1.0.8ba
    pxl SmartScale.exli.dll

That is really all the information I could find on it. You might try downloading the SmartScale demo from the link below, according to this http://dl.extensis.com/downloads/PX/EN/P/pxlsmartscale1.0_ReadMe.txt it has that file. Maybe that will do it.

I should have added. If you have the SmartScale program installed, you might could just uninstall it and see if that helps.

He does not have Smartscale or Etoolbox, or any of those other additional applications that you mentioned.
