How do I change .pdd files to something that can be seen on computers without Photoshop installed? This is really annoying since I have made alterations to a number of different computers and I have been unable to send them to anyone (files to large??), and I cannot get them to open in anything except Adobe. When I change them to .jpg I get a page telling me Adobe blah blah blah is required to view this file. Any help is appreciated.

You what?! Pretty much anything can view a standrad JPEG. If you could tell us exactly why you can't save it as a JPEG then that'd be useful. Also what version of photoshop are you using?

I am using Adobe Photoshop 4.0. When I alter a picture, or combine two, or whatever, I save the file as whatever.jpg. when I open that file without using Adobe I get a page that says, in several languages, "this file can only be viewed using Photoshop..."

I tried a couple conversion tools from the internet and none of them were able to convert the picture either.

Is it because I am modifying the picture?

I meant that I have made alterations to a number of different pictures. Again, I can save them as .jpg, but when I open it I cannot see the picture, just the disclaimer.

It is PhotoDeluxe 4.0 Home Edition. Apologies for any confusion.

I doubt it's because you're modifying the picture. Photoshop is very different to PhotoDeluxe, so that clarifies things quite a lot.

Is it possible for you to make a small picture and upload it so we can check it out? It might be that this version of Photodeluxe is a trail, which might explain why it doesn't save final output.

I have since went to work so I will have to do it tonight when I get home. It is a full version of the program. I can edit pictures and do all of the other fun stuff. I am able to save it as type of file that I want to. When I save it as .jpg and then try to open it the picture is replaced by a black page that has several languages on it. It states "Photoshop 3.0 is required to view this file". Mind you, this takes the place of the picture.

I am checking on updates for the program. I have seen several mentions of this on the net but I have not found a fix yet. I will post the pic when I get home tonight.

as a possible workaround you could use this free app XNView to load as it should work for .pdd's and save it back as a .jpeg.

may sound a strange request but some graphic apps, even tho saved as a jpeg it maybe a proprietary version of jpeg.
