Update Adobe? You should have Adobe Reader 9. And check that the pdf is unlocked. Also this is Adobes page for their drivers.

Adobe Reader 9 - download here. It is recommended to uninstall earlier versions before download of new Adobe.

Great. :-D You should use Secunia PSI RC3 so that this won't happen again.

I used the online version of Secunia that day, but had also used it about 5 days before that. Version 9 did not show up the first time, so apparently they released another version (without my permission I must add :cool) within that 5 days.

I would install it, but I am a bit concerned about yet ANOTHER installed application on my PC. I have a decent desktop that was built for me by a friend of mine, but it is approaching five years old. I get nervous about installing anything that smells like a resource sucker. This oldie-but-goodie will soon be retired to use as a media player for my new Sharp 46" LCD TV and associated surround sound system (aaahhhhhh :cool). By Christmas, I'll be replacing it with a newer PC.

BTW, what's the general opinion about buying desktop PCs from Dell Outlet? The prices seem very reasonable, the selection is good and Dell has a generally strong reputation for servic and support.

Well, there is a first time for everything. I've heard a lot about Dell but never this! :p Never! Look in Dell's support forums. You'll find it hard to confirm this strong reputation for "service and support".

I would go for a company that unlike Dell have auto-update of all their drivers. I know that Lenovo (IBM) will even update your Bios remotely. Just like Microsoft update their programs for you. Now that's what I call service and support! :-D

My comment about Dell's service and support is from personal experience concerning my wife's Inspiron laptop. The few times I have needed them, they were professional, very clear and seemed genuinely interested in handling our concerns. With that and the low prices on outlet machines, I have to consider them for my next purchase. I have no experience with Lenova. Can they be competitively priced? Do they have an outlet for refurbs, scratch and dent, etc? I am a bargain hunter (spelled c-h-e-a-p s-k-a-t-e) from way back.
