    Try uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe.

Alternatively you can try another reader that is less of a resource hog like Foxit

    Lev,
Thanks bunches. Would I still need the Adobe Shockwave installed also or is that safe to remove as well?
    Peace,
    Dee

Ok, appreciate the help as always. Gonna have to rap my daughter on the head. She approved a install of Adobe so I had 2 versions of it installed. And she allowed the install of the google toolbar. I have tried to uninstall it but am getting access is denied...ugh...here I go again.

Where do you stand now? Did you uninstall the older version of Adobe Reader and keep the newer one? Or, did you do something else? Can you access that "read file" now?

Did you go through Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs, to try to uninstall Google toolbar?

Oh man I ended up with a horrible situation somehow. I went ahead and uninstalled both copies of Adobe thru the control panel, couldn't get google toolbar off, somehow something called NOS was installed along with adobe, removed that also. Ran diskcleanup/ccleaner/defrag and rebooted pc. On reboot I got a black screen saying some file was missing and ended up doing a complete re-format...ugh...i just lost so much that I was preparing to burn to cd for exactly reasons like this. But, Adobe is Gone as is the toolbar. Now to get e'thing back on. Just finished the install of AVG/CCleaner. Got all my win updates so now have SP3. Is that firewall enough to run with AVG? This pc is heavily used on a daily basis.
    Peace,
    Dee

Ok great to know, thank you. Question again. The Comodo and Armor both look to have virus protection if I'm seeing properly. If so, should I remove AVG? Unsure about that.
