Advise; about blank or Trojan:VB.vc 1st

    Hello,

    I opened a new IE tab and About:Blank came up, so I was doing steps for removal.

    In steps AVG found Trojan:VB.vc & quarantined it.

    Should I still try to remove about blank with the tools and then go on with the steps for READ ME?

    Apologize in advance, going bug eyed already.

    Hi

    About:Blank in the address bar will show if your using IE7 and open a new tab, its normal until you click in the page that shows the Dont Show this page again box.

    then you can set your home page or another page to open in a new tab, in IE click Tools > Internet options > under Tabs listing click Settings and tick "open home page for new tabs instead of a blank page" > apply.

    Lots of info on IE7


    BUT yes do continue with the guide and attach the logs, then the malware guys can get to work on helping you remove the malware you have.

    Hi Halo,

    LMBO, i tortured my pc for 8 hrs on n off over that page, the thought crossed my mind 4 a whole sec. that it might be normal, but then i said nah, nobody would call a page that! now it just says blank page, lol I figured i tortured it into submission. u would cringe at what i did to my pc. i will continue with malware steps. thanks for your answer...my pc thanks you for stopping me b-4 i killed it.

    AVG Anti-Spy is correct, but file/post is user error!

    I have a keyboard program. I'm a mod in a card league, we use them to spam game rules, quarantined file belongs to that program.

    Wanted to resolve issue.
