Adw Cleaner Log File Check

    Evening,
    I seen a post on Facebook where the supplied download link was for ADW Cleaner was shown.
    I said any help required then to post here.

    I have run the tool and need some advice of what i should remove please.
    I dont see how i can upload a log file here for you to take a look at BEFORE anything is removed etc

    After updating its database and performing a Scan - the GUI shows "Waiting a action", under the Action pane choose "Logfiles/Show scan & clean history", and in the Log Manager GUI -> dbl-click the latest dated AdwCleaner[SO].txt log to open it for viewing. You can now close both the log and the program as a log copy is saved in the C:/AdwCleaner folder.

    The above instructions I listed were just performed without any problems using the latest AdwCleaner v7.0.0.0

    Did you actually run a scan first... before opening the Log Manager GUI?
    (Delete all of the old logs - you don't need them)

    I have deleted the old logs.
    I did run a scan first yes.

    I am running a scan now.

    It has now saved a log with todays date since ive deleted all the old logs.
    I have attached it now for you.
    Thanks.

    I do use the jZip of which i can see in the list.

    I can advise now that i do not use yahoo.

    - in other words, an Adware source. I wouldn't have it on my machine and would allow AdwCleaner to clean all detections shown in your log.

    Further recommendation - uninstall jZip first, then run AdwCleaner.

    jZip is like win zip.
    It comes with software that by removing a tick then doesnt install it.
    I installed it say 2 years ago and use it every week and never had a issue with it.

    I am aware of what type application it is, and of it's history.

    *I offered my opinion after researching the program, but it's your PC...

    Here is the log file ive just produced after removing jZip as advised.
    I do not use Yahoo.

    Please advise many thanks.

    Re-run AdwCleaner and select the Clean action for all detections.

    Just an update.
    Just removed jZip now when i click on a link in a word doc it opens in the yahoo toolbar.

    I see I sent message just as you sent message.

    Does this cleaning process take some time ?
    So far it's been around 50 minutes and not even 1/2 way ?

    It really helps cleaning times to be OFF-LINE and not running other applications while performing malware removal -- no programs are trying to add/modify files while another is attempting to remove files at the same time.

    Factors such as harddrive size, the number of temp files and fragmented files, processor speed, amount of installed RAM, degree of malware infection; all have an influence on cleaning times.

    Hi
    I have just checked the progress but it hasn't moved from its position from 5 + hours ago.

    It's 1/4 of the way but then stays there.
    Now 04:25 and clean up started last night 22:15

    Did you right click the exe and selected Run as Administrator?

    I just downloaded and ran it and it took at most 5 minutes to give me the results. I'll sgut my browser now and select clean (my arrows show green but yours don't).

    I'm back. My computer had more items in red than yours. Something like 204. It took less than a minute to clean. The computer rebooted and after it restarted, the logfile showed. (Note I selected the option on the left - clean).

    Right click & run as admin BANG system crash.
    I have now deleted ADW sorry.

    No issues that i have seen for at least months
