I really need your help. I have tried everything to get rid of the adware/spyware or whatever is on my machine. Even went into registry and deleted what i could find manually. Surfsidekick was one of them, I can't find it in the registry anymore so hopefully its gone, but there is alot more obviously. The popups are crazy!

I ran hijackthis and these are the results. I have also include some my system info.

    Thankyou!

Attach the logs from the two online scans then procede with the below steps...

Please see the below thread on running the L2MeFix Tool.

I don't have a ' secondary logon'. It shows Services (local) in left pain but no secondary login anywhere on that page.

Just procede and post the logs when complete, don't forget to run the online scans also.

I think that may have fixed the problem, no popups so far! (crossing fingers).
I'm not sure of what online scans you mentioned in your reply. I'm attaching the look2me logs and I also did another hijackthis scan.
P.S. I hope I attached the right files for you!!

Thankyou so much for your help!! :)

If it's too large just compress it and attach it as a ZIP file.

BJ will not be around for awhile. I will try to pick up where he left off.

You should empty your Norton AntiVirus Quarantine folder and you should also empty your Norton Nprotect folder that is protecting the Recycle Bin. See the below which should help you to get it emptied:

Emptying the Norton Protected Recycle Bin

You never posted your PandaActiveScan log. Have you run it yet? If not, please run it and attach the log.

Did you install HijackThis properly yet (per step 7 of the READ ME)? If so, please attach a current HJT log.

I thought I had posted those, I hope this is what you want. Thankyou for taking over where BJ left off :)

I don't believe you posted them. And you still forgot to attach the BitDefender log.

And you still did not install HijackThis properly and your log is from safe mode. Please read step 7 in its entirety

Also you should not be running HijackThis at startup.

Make sure you have install HijackThis properly BEFORE you continue with the below.

Empty your System Mechanic 6\Undo folder (unless there is stuff in there you need to save). You are collecting a load of bad stuff there.

Also empty your Norton NPROTECT folder.

Do you really want to run Spybot S&D everytime you boot up?
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [SpybotSnD] "C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SpybotSD.exe" /autocheck

Click on Start, then Run ... type services.msc into the box that opens up, and press 'OK'. On the page that opens, scroll down to Microsoft Windows Update Service (or if not found look for Windows Update Service) ... then right click the entry, select 'Properties' and press 'Stop Service'. When it shows that it is stopped, next please set the 'Start-up Type' to 'Disabled'. Press 'OK' until you get back to Windows.

Next, run HJT, but instead of scanning, click on the "None of the above, just start the program" button at the bottom of the choices. At the lower right, click on the 'Config" button, and then the Misc tools' button ... select 'Delete an NT Service" ... copy/paste the following into the box that opens, and press "OK":

    Microsoft Windows Update Service

If that does not work try entering the short name: Windows Update Service

Now exit HJT but do not reboot when it tells you it needs to. We will do that further down after running HJT again to fix some other items.

Make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = \blank.htm
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CyberDefender AntiSpyware] "C:\Program Files\CyberDefender\AntiSpyware\shfn0.exe"
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [HijackThis startup scan] C:\Documents and Settings\Valued customer\Desktop\HijackThis.exe /startupscan
    O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://software-dl.real.com/08122d552680cd128005/netzip/RdxIE601.cab
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: Setup - C:\WINNT\system32\h0l2la3o1d.dll (file missing)
O23 - Service: FireDaemon Service: binconf (binconf) - Unknown owner - (no file)
O23 - Service: Microsoft Windows Update Service (Windows Update Service) - Unknown owner - C:\WINNT\services.exe (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete:
    C:\Program Files\CyberDefender <--- the whole folder
    C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\VCClient <--- the whole folder
C:\WINNT\services.exe <--- only delete this one if found. Do not delete from anywhere else!!
    C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\MYDLL.dll
    C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\ustart.exe

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.
Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST).

Now we need to Reset Web Settings:
    1. If you have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, goto step 2. If not, skip to step 3.
    2. Now right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK. Then skip step 3.
    3. If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.
Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now.

Reminder Note: Once we have determined you are malware free you will need to disable System Restore, reboot, and re-enable system restore per step 1 of the READ & RUN ME. This only applies to if using WinXP or WinMe.

Ok, hopefully I did this right. I ran hjt and clicked on the things that you told me to and fixed them, some of the things were not there though. I couldn't start in safe mode. Not sure why, I could before. Things seemed to be working really well before I did all you told me to do, but when I tryed to restart in safe mode it wouldn't let me and just started up normally, but very very slow.
Thankyou for your patience with me, you are probably rolling your eyes lol .

Please complete the steps in my previous message (even if you must do them in normal boot mode) and attach the requested new HJT log.

I think i did all that. I ran the scans even though I couldn't do it in safe mode, maybe the files didn't attach?

Sorry you did not attach anything.

Ok, hopefully it attached now? It says i already attached the activescan one though.

That can happen if the file has the same name or the exact same contents. Try naming it activescan2 and see if it will attach.

won't let me do it, I even named it dumbfile lol after a pile of attempts with numbers afterwords and no go. It shows in one of my posts below an active scan attachment.

I did not ask for another Panda log! You already attach it. I said you did not attach the BitDefender log.

However we are not going any further until you PLEASE follow step 7 and install HijackThis as requested. You are still running it from exactly where we ask that it not be installed. I have asked you to do this multiple times. In message # 17 I even said:
But you continued without installing it properly anyway.

  26. sherry123

I installed hjt as I was told before, it is in its own folder and ran it from there, it is not on the desktop by itself! I don't know where else to put it if not its own folder! Is a bfu log not the bitdefender log? If so I attached that one before, but excuse me for thinking that the panda log was the active scan log you were asking for!

You are running HijackThis from your Desktop:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Valued customer\Desktop\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe

It is not being run from C:\Program Files\HJT\HijackThis.exe which is the suggested folder. No folder within C:\Documents and Settings is acceptable and neither is any temp folder. That is what the directions specify. Delete the below file:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Valued customer\Desktop\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe

Then perhaps you will stop running that one.

You can name the Bitdefender log anything you like. However BFU is an abbreviation normally associate with Brute Force Uninstaller. The log you attached was the bitdefender log.
