Afd.sys replacement needed

As I read in a different thread, it is a good idea to run the FSS scan in this case as I lost internet access and norton said something had infected afd.sys. I did a scan and have attached the results. I looked for the afd.sys bit and it said it needed replacing but I don't know where to get a replacement.

 

You could try to replace it with the original operating system file. In a Command Prompt window type

Code:

sfc /scannow

You may be asked for the original Windows install disk.

If you need more help, please specify your Windows version.

 

Thanks for the reply. My netbook is operating Windows 7 Starter 32-bit but I don't have a disc.

Yes you are correct. Besides having an infected Winsock driver, other essential services are not running as well!

Work your way through the Read And Run Me.
Follow the directions.
If you have issues, make a note of the same- and continue on to the next step of instructions.
Once you have the requested logs, please attach the same, in a new thread started in MalwareRemoval.
Mention any Issues, you may have faced running the scanners /obtaining logs.
