About 3 weeks ago I got slammed with a bunch of viruses. Not sure how we picked them up. (There were links to porn tube and someone was on there 6 or 7 months ago when we had a party.)

Anyway, I ran read on run me playbook. Things went well until I ran combofix. It shut down my computer because of a rootkit virus. When I tried to restart my computer, It couldn't find my hard drive!!! So I called my brother to help me, he's in school for programming, and it took him 4 hours to get my hard drive back online. After he did that, he said combofix started running right after it started up. Unfortunatly, he didn't save the log. I ran root repeal and I will post the log for you if you want it. It says I have one locked file. Since all of this, I haven't been able to connect with my home internet. I re-set the router and that didn't work. It says I have good signal strength, so I'm lost. My brother has too much to deal with, so I'm asking you for help, again. I go to the coffee shop to use the internet and don't have any problems. Maybe this is the wrong place to ask this question, but it all started with that rootkit.

Thanks for taking the time to help me. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

You may have lost your internet connection because ComboFix never finished running properly. Check to make sure you are set for DHCP in your network connections TCP/IP Internet Protocol. DHCP means you should be set to Obtain an IP address automatically. If you don't know how to do this see this link: http://uits.iu.edu/page/aiyy

Please finish running MGtools and then attach the logs from the below:
    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes
    • RootRepeal
    • MGtools
And take a look for C:\combofix.txt which is where the combofix log would be if it created it. Do not run ComboFix again unless requested.
