After adding DVD, I get Disk Boot Failure msg.

I added a bigger new hard drive a few weeks ago (as slave) and everything has been working fine. Yesterday I found a great deal on a DVD writer so i brought it home and installed it. I had to remove my older HD and set up my newer as master. But during the first boot it gave me the Disk Boot Failure, insert system disk and press enter message after it recognized my CD, DVD and floppy drives.

I figured it was the DVD and realized that my processor did not meet the minimum requirements so I took it out. But I still get the message. I even put my older HD back in and put everything back the way it was before all this. Still get the message. So I thought maybe it was the new HD and tried just the older one, no change.

Could it probably be the motherboard? I don't think it is the power supply because the lights come on and I did get it to boot to floppy but since it didn't recognize my HDs there wasn't anything I could do to them. Or can I?

I tried different Boot up sequences but all get the same error and also the ATAPI CD boot failure. When I try the auto detect in BIOS it starts but freezes (or never finishes).

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Bethany

This may sound stupid but depending on the age of the sytem, the IDE cables have a tendency to come loose... try removing and reinstalling the cables... long shotand probably already thought of but allways worth a try

Did you remember to change the jumpers on the old hardrive back to master and the new one back to slave. On the back of each hardrive should be a set of pins covered by a plastic jumper. Instructions for the jumper should be located on top of the hardrive. Or try resetting the bios on your motherboard should be a jumper switch located near the battery (looks like a large watch battery)on you mother board. If that does not work post back. Turn off computer unplug power supply ground yourself by touching the side of your case or anything metal and move the jumper for about 10-15 seconds and then move it back.
