after sp3 will not activate or validate

ok after going through all the steps in malware removal and the steps a majorgeek gave me i was able to finally update to sp3 with a solution i read from ms troubleshooting site which was to export the wpa key from the registry and change the numbers in the key to "currentversion". now after reboot im getting the windows is not activated or validated messages. and i tried all the steps in the activate window and im not getting anywhere, i keep reading to just call them but when i do im unable to get passed the first step and it wont connect me to a real person. please help. thanks

 

im starting to think i may have accidentally installed the wrong version of sp2 and im now unable to install or uninstall anything and im afraid to go on the internet with it because i cant figure out how to get avira installed, but i will go back and try your last post, sorry about that

 

oh poop i just realized im working on the other pc now. this thread is not for the pc in thread "this is bad" its for thred " will not update anything" geez im sorry about the mix up, im going to do your steps in "this is bad" while i wait for instructions on this thread/pc
