I went through your programs to download ot get rid of spyware and now sometimes when I go onto a site that involves Macromedia Flash required, I cannot view the site. I tried reinstalling Flash but still not being able to view the site. I just get a screen with a little jpg icon where the flash would be. How should I go about correcting this problem?? I'm currently using Ad-Ware, Spybot, CleanmyPC, PestPatrol, Spyware Blaster, and Sygate Firewall. I figured one of the progams is preventing me from using flash because it is an ActiveX??

First, I would uninstall most of those as its possible they will cause conflicts with one another. Leave the Firewall & Spyware Blaster, uninstall the rest and try again. If no success, please follow below so I can rule this out as a possibility.

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

the irony...i just had this same problem yesterday.

on the macromedia site, there is a page where you can download an uninstaller package for flash player.

    grab that.

    uninstall flashplayer.

    reboot.

then do a manual download and installation of flashplayer, not their auto-install one where the little movie plays...but download the installer package,

    reboot.

i would get the links for you, but i already cleared my cache and had a helluva time finding all that. sorry

    -good luck
