Agere Network software update?

    hi all, can anyone tell me if it is possible to undo this software update i did from the microsoft update page?:
    Agere Systems PCI Soft Modem
    Agere Network software update released in October, 2008

    I did it a couple of months ago & straight away the dial tone (i still use dial up :-o ) inside my pc was stuttery & broken whereas before it was fine like the tone on my house phone. my connection is now quite pants & recently often connected but no bytes coming or going, -try & open a page & it says "Done" in the corner & doesnt load?

    Go into device manager, click on the + sign in front of modems.
    Right click your modem and select properties. One of the tabs in the box that pops up should allow you to roll back the driver.

    Lesson learned: don't accept updates for your hardware from MS. Go to the page of your computer manufacturer for those.
    I've had MS updates break some hardware so I never look at anything in that section.
