*AGH* I can't even boot up!!

ARG. My old computer is giving me greys.

Its a P2 733 running on Windows 98.

I was trying to get rid of some spyware (just looking at the add/remove panel) when suddenly, windows just COLLAPSES. Icons dissapear, can't open anything, just get my desktop and the pointer.

Eventually, it restarts on its own. Then, next time I boot up the comp, I have to re-input my windows key and it acts like it's the first time I've turned on the damn thing.

So I do all that but the instant windows starts up, I get an Explorer Error and am forced to close it.

It's doing this ALL the time now!

After I close the window, nothing happens and in the "Ctrl+alt+del" menu, all that's open are a couple of programs (names escape me at the moment).

If I open up windows in start mode, I get the same thing, except that there's NOTHING open at all. It just sits at the background with the mouse.

What happened!!

I don't think it reformated because it went waaaaaaay to fast to have deleted all my stuff. I think....I hope....please help!!

 

Sounds like you have to reinstall Windows 98.
