AHCI Port 0 Device Error

Have intel i3 530 CPU unsure of motherboard brand. Have been having very slow boot times in Win7. Is now coming up in the post with AHCI Port 0 Device error F1 to resume.
Then Win7 starts slowly. After it starts get Intel Rapid Storage message that ' Disk port 0 at risk. Reset to normal. Do that & seems OK.
I would assume these symptoms indicate the onboard disk contoller is starting to fail. Since getting these messages shutdown is also very slow. Suggestions apart from a new PC please.

Thanks downloaded the programme . Windows reported a hard drive error. Installed programme & it says failure is imminent. I'll try a new drive
