indeed, i play freelancer and we get people joining all the time and jumping to level 30+ in an hour and claim someone gave them the money(rank is determined by amount of funds) and that level requires hundreds of milions. they must think we are idiots

 

Auto-aim isn't the only thing I have to worry about when playing a Half-Life mod called Team Fortress Classic. There are cheating scum out there using speed hacks and wall hacks that, like you said, ruin the gaming experience for the rest of us. One thought I'd like to share on this subject... what fun does a person get out of the game by cheating?

Seems like to me cheating would get old and boring real fast. There's no challenge in it, it requires no skill, and its repetitive. A single player game would be more entertaining than that, and if people want to cheat, that's where they need to go to do it... single player games.

Cheating online is disrespectful, against the gaming rules, and is just plain lame. I blame the people that actually created the cheats more than I do the people that use them, but I consider the entire cheating community weak, cowardly (for lack of a better word) individuals.

 

UT 2004 also has some speed hack thing that always pops on the screen and lags everyone in the game. @ cheaters

 

Cheating sucks the big one; one thing I hate in Counter-Strike is for someone to come in the server and start opening fire w/no aim and get kills everywhere and go 70 and 10. The problem I have is that im a really good player; so it seems that being a good player isn't a serious thing now a days, and if you get alot of kills your either 1)Using Aimbot, wall hack 2)Talking on the mic with a friend to know where everyones at or 3)Im using no recoil (since i only burst fire). So alot of the times I get permanently banned from servers for "cheating". I ussaly end up finding one server that people get familiar with me and play there only... So I hate with a passion all you bastards that make it unfriendly for us in games.

i know with ut2004 i play most of the time on last man standing there are a couple of servers that i.e..
that have the PLUS-NET logo will stop the cheaters as it checks your system files within ut2004 folder for mods and incorrect edited files so hopefully all the servers will adopt this one day
but its very hard to keep ahead of the cheaters as they have weird priorities to the rest of the honest gaming community best of luck my friend maybe i'll see you on the ut2004 master server i'll introduce you to my mates their cool then you must prepare to kill or be killed.

Yea my team is CALIM on CS theres alot of cheaters, like aimbot, speedhack, walllhack is the biggest problem tho

Cheaters in multiplayer games is for insecure dorks who just want to win to make them feel better about themselves. Cheating in single player (single-multi-playeR?) ... in a botmatch is different. I do that occasionally just because its funny somtimes. But I wouldnt do it in a multiplayer game where you need the skill against real people playing you ... thats half the fun!

I'm crap at the game, and I die very VERY fast, but I love it still! I would play it RIGHT NOW but i wanna go to sleep coz ive got a maths exam tomoz.

hi guys,
the way i noticed( cheaters ) is by suddenly there score goes right through the roof in most cases and when you tackle them on to one or on a cheat protected server their true skill or lack off shines through.
thou i may add some guys have real talent its a shame they sometimes get lumped in the same basket.

 

When i CS my score is ussaly between 40-55kills and under 10-15 deaths

I find no amusment in cheating in any game singleplayer or multiplayer; i frown apon it heavily as it destroys the games integrety... I know devs make SP cheats to reproduce situations in the game faster then starting from a blank point over and over. If i can't learn the curve of the game or the game lacks some facility to comlete it so no 12yr old can beat it in a heart beat, I ussaly keep trying till' exhaustion, drop the game, or read a game FAQ/ strategy guide. As for the people that DO use cheats in MP and get off on it... I think there is more then a skin deep psychological problem with them; its as if they get pleasure in causing disconfort in other people. Im almost certain that these people that do cheat, cheat and lie in everday life. Maybe caused by crappy family values and poor judgement from people around em'. Hell maybe its from pressure from good players on noobs for them to have the "skill" to compete, but that still doesnt explain their motives for continous cheating without self improvement. I've tryed asking them various time the "why" of their acts but i get no serious reply...Wish a compulsive cheater would come foward and tell me.


I have such strong feelings vs cheats in sp/mp that when my little brother trys to cheat in SP games (mp never even crosses his mind, hes a damn good player too) I seriously scold him some for trying to get out of it the easy way and don't let him use them.


Now...I have a question/comment that might sound biast but from all the people I heard talking over the mic in CS/UT that cheat they have all been males in the early puberty stages to early teens... My question is has anyone seen/heard female cheaters? Are males more prone to do those type of acts? I know the force of male vs female gamers is a big diffrence though so the times we might see one vs another will be greater for the males....But you know; curious =).

i've come across some good female players sammantha is a regular on plusnet jl(zero) server but alas no cheatchicks yet i'm sure there is as you said maybe its a form of self loathing or spirited by low selfestem or peer pressure i like to be competitive in some things but not to the point of making myself look a moron i to have had games which drive insane (THE THIEF SERIES) i gave the disc away it was terrible.
I know with ut that its dodging and weapon mastering that increases your skill and fighting hard bots in prctice sessions and i like that so thats my bag but not everyones

Thanks rob ; I agree that fighting bots in games improve your general skills to a certain point but the problem with bots/AI that I REALLY loathe is their predictability. When I played bots for about a week in CS it was extremely boring; the ability for humans to change their ideas on what to do when they are presented a diffrent outcome every match keeps me hooked on to MP games. That and the competitive spirit that I carry within me; I have plenty of friends with the same game as I do be it RTS/FPS that we play together but almost NEVER against each other since I always force myself to learn the game and the best strategies for the game and kick their arses.

Im sure cheaters NEVER tryed to fight bots or practice with em' to improve their basic skills. I know CS there are 3 factors that will win you a match; sound which is crucial...with my headset i can hear a person almost half way across the map, then theirs your aim; having a high powered gun like a rifle aimed at the head level of a person ussaly gets you an instant kill meaning you wont take any hurtin'. Then there is also reaction time...like my friend put it when i went against him in CS "damn....I was like a deer caught in the headlights" Meaning his reaction was very slow and he didnt even pull his own trigger...I know for games like UT its alot more then just those 3 which makes the game alot more challenging...then again i never liked to jump n strafe n shoot

 

Oh I hardly ever cheat when playing a storyline type game though. Takes the fun out of it! I just like to see little glitches (playing a botmatch with no bots ) like the flying levi in UT2004. I can see how in MP that could be a right bitch.

when i'm not gaming i like to troubleshoot and build systems i've had a few probs like yourself i'll keep a good watch out for your posts;
todays tip
have found terrible probs with zonealarm free if you have updated from 4.5 to 5 the latest update has a floor which somehow lets rubbish onto your drive i had an 8hour nightmare reloading service packs even thou mines intergrated had to force it
system repair (i happend to have sys restore turned off i paid for that one) so if you have zonealarm which is spot-on
i've had no probs in the past until the latest update
i found it better to turn down all the security settings in zonealarm to nothing first
(so no protection making sure youve downloaded older version of 4.5 first)
then when no ports are being watched
uninstall v.5 then restart and first thing before checking your mail reinstall older 4.5 until zonelabs have had time to fix the v.5
zonealarm is not the oldest program i use but i've been running it for a few years though 98se/winme/now in xp
it is a first class program with an easy interface 10 out of ten for a free program but i'm not the only one who has had this problem so at least give it some thought but i must stress you must uninstall in the manner described above or you'll pay for that one as well as zonealarm will leave the system still protected and throw out all your internet setting and deney you access to the net take care i know i go on a bit but that nightmare session is a very real issue and peed me right off.

I play CNC Renegade and I love the sniping games. They came up with http://www.renguard.com to get rid of people cheating. The company I think makes anti-hacks for other games as well. Please check em out and ask what else they have developed. NEMO

an aimbot is a program outside of the game you are playing that automatically locks onto targets for you, instead of having to do it yourself with the mouse.

alright well i dont know if anybody gets the speed hack detected on ut2004 but it seems to happen on my system that I built with the amd chip and the lastest patch installed. it dosnt happen on another system with the intel and celeron processors that i have built, tryed different mb from asus to ecs on all the systems and different os's still with the different config system's still get the speed hack with just the amd chip installed(even tryed different amd chips) The only chip not affected is the amd 64. Uninstalled ut2004 and reinstalled and didnt install the lastest patch and game ran fined.

UT2004 I love this game.

Is being ruined by these idiots that bot.

Couple of effects of botters on other team - Lag and Vid spam [for lack of a better term]. My [and a few other people's] video goes all, well, fuzzy. Makes for eye strain, headaches and major frustration as your game play suffers and you becoame really noobish.

The people who cheat constantly deny that they do.... They need help before they take up a gun and head for a bell tower.

Have been on full Ut servers, or near full full, and had no lag bitch about and NO vid spam other than the little bit you can expect from online play. Then one more player joins. This player scores better than a godlike bot and is more accurate than a pro gamer. The spam that starts and the resultant lag are amazing to behold.

The funniest part is you can pinpoint the time they enabled the cheat. There is a like a huge lag freeze.

But just ask them... they aren't cheating.

If it isn't cheating what is it? Competing? ROTFL. Athletes that compete in the same way get banned from the sport.

Thats my bitch anyway i am almost at the point that i am going to remove tha game and burn the cd's.

BUT NO ONE CHEATS!! AND AIMBOTS DON'T EXIST!!! JUST ASK THEM....

i tend to just use anti tcc servers now or .
join a clan.
play with mates online that you trust run your own listening server with anti tcc.
Download the vids from bdc site on how to build your own maps
Incorparate mutators and different scenarios to make the gameplay more fun thats the only way to beat the low life no life cheaters i play in a team or against my bro we still have a lot of laughs try the plus-net servers its fun watching the cheaters get booted before they make a kill .

Going back some time....way back when CS mod was just a game with cs_estate and a couple of weps...the makers of CS mod bragged that the game was "impossible" to hack/cheat in it; this dude got pissed at the IRC convo he had with him and basically started providing/making Aimbot(the 'original' so to say) and kept doing it as "anti-cheat" was developed to block them. Totaly sucks; i wonder where cheating would be if the convo was never held on cheating. Bastards.

i now have good fun good laugh with lots of different people i have never meet in person but are friendly and receptive to other people online as you said cheats will never die someone smartarse will find a way of beating the anti tcc its probably a challenge to some blinker vision no life but i still like gaming against fresh new unknown quantitys but you cant have it all eh.

I agree to that, people should be stood against a wall and stoned like in the olden days and then peraded in the streets for all too see!

Oh no one actually said that for me to agree with it,, it was me wasn't it?
Well I agree with it anyhow!

But their are a lot of ways to see people cheating, no1 rule to remember is
they always bring a friend or 2 in with them or run to their IRC channel to get one in to say their not cheating then they have been accused so first you need to expose their friend which is normally the gimp sucking up to their ass.
Also most cheats I find easy to see and most times I'm the only one in their that can see them so what I do is make a big joke about their cheats as if to lol at how n00by they are for a cheat of that kind and how easy it was to spot, this just makes them angry then cheat more but what this also does is turns the server against them which leads to them showing their cheats with no cares about anyone seeing. When this has happened and all are teaming them it is at this point u want to use over, find the most spammer instant killing weapon and wait for other to jump in taking focus of their bot which they should be using at that time then from distance keep throwing in your shots whilst ducking back out for cover from their bot. If u die run straight back to same place and continue making sure you LOL and HAHAHAA everytime you kill them, 2 levels and they normally leave.
If they do come back with others don't say nothing, let them own but keep quite, whole server has to work on this together then cos they had help and lamed they will leave but u must also play real bad at this point, if you rise to it you just make it more fun for them. This has worked 100s of times but its a prob when one idiot wont listen to rest in server and keeps playing.
If no abuse has been thrown at a loser who's botting then simply just ask everyone to stop playing and normally 2 levels and they leave because its to them more boring than single player if no one fights back, this also has worked 100s of times. And also keeps them at bay more than banning them cos when u banned them and they got dynamic ip then they come back more.
